Saturday Training Ride

So the weather was pretty good this Saturday after a very mixed week.

I joined up with Richard, Tony and James at Yellows bar at the football ground at 9:30 ready to go off on a ride which would be largely dictated by time and the weather.

We headed back the way I had come through Thorpe St Andrew to Thorpe End then straight past Little Plumstead and Blofield Heath, through Panxworth, South Walsham to Acle.

From here we went out on the B1152 which had quite heavy traffic heading toward Acle/Norwich. We then turned off toward Potter Heigham, stopping at Ludham for a quick refulling break, Horning and on into Worxham.

All the way from Potter Heigham we rode into a head wind which only varied occassionally when it came across from the side which slowed our average speed by about 0.3 miles per hour.

We took the road down to Salhouse taking a couple of short descents into New Rackheath. I then turned off and rode back through Thorpe End to home with the other guys riding back toward the city where they would go their seperate ways.

Overall the ride was very enjoyable largely due to the company and the nice weather. I covered 39 miles with Tony going about 48 as he had to ride from and back to Poringland. James deserves a special mention as it was a big ride for him having only recently just getting back into riding.

James got to show off his shiny red Giant SCR4 with Tony on his Specialized Allez and Richard on his Trek Madone 5.1 which looked very nice in black with yellow.

Out tomorrow for a lunchtime ride which will be in the region of 15 miles or so, hopefully the weather will be kind.
